Of course, we continuously strive to make our company more sustainable. But we make the real difference by making the market more sustainable. With our CSR policy, we therefore focus on the entire chain: from raw materials to recycling.
1. Raw materials of renewable origin
It all starts with raw materials. We use as many environmentally friendly ingredients as possible with a renewable origin. A large number of our products are certified with the European Ecolabel.
2. Sustainable business practices
From water and energy savings to waste separation and safety: we set the bar high when it comes to sustainability within our company. To this end, we implemented the Charter for Sustainable Cleaning in 2011. Spectro is also certified in accordance with ISO9001 and ISO14001. As of 2019, Spectro generates all of its own energy through solar panels. This means that our production is completely energy-neutral.
3. Sustainable logistics
We are also trying to stay ahead in the logistics field. For example, we specialize in superconcentrates. This method of production and delivery inherently requires fewer logistical movements and less storage. All our company vehicles are electric. In the long term, we want to make regional transportations electric and further transportations as efficient as possible, for example by freight sharing and thus preventing empty trucks.
4. Sustainable use
We achieve the greatest environmental benefit by focusing on the sustainable use of our products. Thanks to our innovative dosing systems, we prevent overdosage. That literally means no drop too much. Furthermore, our clear color codes ensure that the right product is used at the right time. Finally, we train employees on the use of our cleaning products and create complete cleaning plans for effective and efficient cleaning.
5. Recycling and reuse
Used products deserve a new life. Recycling and reuse are therefore important considerations in our production process. A beautiful example of this are our Recycle Bottles: made from up to 100% recycled plastics. The use of as few dyes as possible in packaging makes it even easier to recycle the packaging. Furthermore, Spectro offers the possibility to return packaging via the Recycle Factory. The plastic from this is reused in new packaging. In this way we are creating a chain of value.
6. Good employer
Spectro believes it is important to be a good employer. The development of employees is central to this, but we also take initiatives to make our employees healthier. Additionally, we work closely with organizations for people with a distance to the labor market. For example, a large portion of our dispensers is made this way.
