Militex was founded in 1948 in Heemskerk by ex-military personnel from World War II and the Dutch East Indies. These former soldiers had the idea to start a soap factory and develop and produce products for large-scale users such as schools, restaurants, cleaning companies, and wholesalers. In the 1980s and 1990s, the company, by then relocated to IJmuiden, increasingly focused on private labels under the leadership of Erwin van den Eijnde. At the beginning of this century, Militex further specialized in microbiological cleaners and developed an impressive product line in this area. In 2024, Spectro acquired Militex and moved production to Oss. After the acquisition, three special ‘Militex by Spectro’ product lines were created:

Effective, ready-to-use cleaning products that perfectly align with the trends of convenience and speed. The line consists of the following products:

MICRO Classic
Concentrated, strongly scented microbiological cleaners, suitable for a wide range of applications. They are called the ‘classics’ for a reason, as they have been top sellers for years:

MICRO Eco
‘Best of both worlds,’ where highly concentrated, freshly scented microbiological cleaners, certified with the EU Ecolabel (in accordance with the original Militex formula), are combined with the unique Spectro Dosing Bottle, made from 100% in-house recycled plastic:

In addition, many other formulas have been added to Spectro’s portfolio. The aforementioned products are, of course, also available under private label.
