It is like clockwork; after the summer period, when it starts to get colder, we always get at least one phone call: has something changed in the formulation of your product? Because my employee suddenly has irritated skin from washing or disinfecting their hands. In this blog we would like to explain how this occurs and what you can do about it.
1. How does this skin irritation arise?
The skin is our largest organ and that shows how important our skin is. In normal circumstances our skin is predominant, but during changing weather conditions this predominance can be disrupted. In particular, the cold weather in combination with heat inside ensures faster evaporation of the moisture from the skin and the closing of the blood vessels in the skin. This causes irritated and/or red skin.
2. Are Spectro products safe?
Our cosmetic products such as hand & foam soaps are dermatologically approved. This means that the complete formulation and all raw materials used have been assessed by a dermatologist for safe use. In addition, production takes place around the cleanest conditions (GMP) and most of our cosmetic products are hypo-allergenic.
The safety of our hand disinfectants has been tested by the CTGB and FOD. In addition, we only use cosmetic ingredients and we also produce these products under clean conditions. Our hand disinfectants also contain ingredients for moisturizing of the skin.
What can you do?
First of all, awareness is important. Some people have more sensitive skin than others. Try to find out for yourself if, for example, you suffer from it every year. Furthermore, taking care of your skin is very important if you are sensitive to these changing conditions. For example, regularly use Hand & Body Lotion. This ensures that the moisture returns to the skin and for faster skin recovery. In extreme cases, a visit to a dermatologist is recommended to inquire whether there is a skin condition.
