From 2021 it is mandatory to provide new classified cleaning agents with a so-called UFI code
New European regulation
This replaces the regulation to provide information to all national poison control centers. From 2025 it must also be implemented on existing cleaning agents. An UFI is an unique formula identifier (16 characters) associated with information about the product and its use, ingredients and toxicity. This code makes it easier and faster for medical staff to advise on the right treatment. In addition, you must provide additional information (and costs) for each individual country where the product will be marketed.
More and more UFI codes
The UFI code will appear on more and more Spectro and private label products in the near future. This far-reaching new legislation is a concrete example of the ever-increasing regulatory burden. This means that we as Spectro will take a critical look at our range in the coming year and, for example, we will have to convert small articles and special formulations, in consultation with you as a customer, into standardized formulations. Some countries also charge hefty fees for this registration. These will be charged in case of private labels, for Belgium it is € 200,- per formulation. Safety Data Sheets
As a manufacturer, we are obliged to provide you with up-to-date SDSs. We do this through a recently updated automatic system and we always leave this with a first delivery and with the next delivery where a change has been made to the product. The mentioned UFI will also appear on the SDS. We also notice that the emails with the SDS sometimes get snowed under and that is why we regularly receive questions for current magazines. To make this easier, we have created an online database for the Spectro articles, where you can download the most up-to-date SDS in Dutch, English, French and German. You can find the database here. In this way we try to serve you even faster and easier.
