The active ingredient in NonaDes, nonanoic acid, occurs naturally in plants such as geraniums. Additionally, the packaging is made from 100% recycled plastic sourced from Spectro’s
Recycle Factory, and the products are manufactured in our sustainable and energy-neutral factory in Oss.

The effectiveness of NonaDes speaks for itself, often working faster and more thoroughly than other products. One liter of NonaDes covers between 200 and 550 m², whereas traditional green algae removers typically only reach up to 100 m² per liter of concentrate. No certification of expertise (commonly known as a spraying license) is required for the removal of green algae.
Pioneers in Green Algae Removal
Johannes Metternich, grandfather of the current owners of Spectro, was a true pioneer in the field of green algae cleaning. In the 1970s, he accidentally discovered that the disinfectant he had developed also worked exceptionally well on green algae. After extensive testing and refinement, he obtained one of the first legal approvals in the Netherlands for green algae removal in the 1980s. Now, more than 40 years later, the family introduces the latest version: NonaDes, complete with legal approval in both the Netherlands and Belgium.
