Blog: Prevent misuse, pay per use

In an ideal world, as an entrepreneur you know what income you can expect and the associated costs. But unfortunately it often doesn’t work that way. At least… at Spectro we do offer our customers clarity in our services and the associated compensation. For example, with our pay per use options. These are the words of our CFO Quintus Metternich.

“No entrepreneur wants unforeseen costs or setbacks at the end of the year,” Quintus opens. “Neither do we, and neither do our customers. That was one of the reasons for launching pay per use. This means that as an entrepreneur you know exactly where you stand.”

Fixed fee

The pay per use principle has different variants. Such as a fixed fee, per month or per year. Another option is a fixed amount per wash, ideal for entrepreneurs with a car wash or, for example, a dishwasher in a professional kitchen. Another alternative is agreements per square meter to be cleaned.

Predictive appointments

But how do we determine the compensation? According to Quintus, this always happens in consultation with the customer. “No one has a crystal ball. But we can certainly make predictive agreements. We do this by answering questions such as: ‘How often do we clean?’, ‘What exactly do we clean?’ and ‘Which resources and equipment do we use?’ In this way, we accurately determine our efforts and you know if customer what you can expect.”

Sustainability and innovation

An important condition for success is the correct use of cleaning agents. “This is where sustainability and innovation go hand-in-hand,” says Quintus. “For example, we work with smart dosing equipment, so that the cleaner always uses exactly what he needs. We also collect data through our equipment, from which we can learn. Can it be smarter? More sustainable? Cheaper? Then that is a reason for us to evaluate and make adjustments if necessary. But we can also use it to transparently and honestly show consumption to our customers.”

Main benefits

But first and foremost, our customer benefits from the pay per use principle. The most important advantages:
– One fixed fee (and therefore no surprises afterwards)
– Always sufficient stock and timely maintenance of dosing equipment (based on data)
– No initial investment (in dispensers or supplies, for example)
– Scaling up and down is possible at any time (e.g. for seasonal work).
– Direct positive impact on sustainable entrepreneurship

TOP Oss as a calling card

A good practical example of where pay per use makes its mark is our collaboration with TOP Oss. The sponsorship deal we recently concluded includes a fixed monthly fee for our cleaning products. Quintus: “TOP Oss is a wonderful, complete partner for us. They have buildings, catering facilities, professional washing machines, sanitary facilities… For us, TOP Oss is a nice calling card: for example, we regularly show clients what solutions we have in-house. A great collaboration!”

Close relationship

Finally, there is another advantage of the intensive collaboration that we strive for with our customers: we really want to know our customers. “We always go for the long term,” concludes Quintus. “In collaboration with our colleagues, our suppliers, and also our customers. When you know each other what is going on and anticipate it, the relationship becomes closer and cooperation improves. So it’s a win-win situation.”
