It’s no secret that we like to enrich our range with new products. Especially when such an introduction is also sustainable. Recently, we launched the Gloovy Eco Glove: the first fully sustainable disposable glove. Of course, we thoroughly tested this glove, and the results are promising.
The Gloovy Eco Glove is a sustainable alternative to the well-known nitrile gloves. Our legal and regulatory expert René Uijtdewilligen explains: “In the cleaning industry, nitrile gloves are widely used. The ‘problem’ is the production of these gloves: it is not sustainable. Moreover, due to the polymer compound, they are hardly recyclable. Just in the cleaning industry, 60 million gloves disappear into the trash every year. There is therefore great potential to make the industry more sustainable.”
Lower carbon footprint
The Gloovy Eco Glove consists of a combination of polyethylene and thermoplastic elastomer. “The production is more environmentally friendly and the material comes from a renewable source,” said René. “Furthermore, we can perfectly recycle the Gloovy Eco Glove after use. This also saves on waste disposal and reduces your carbon footprint even further.”

Safety first
The Gloovy Eco Glove is suitable for short-term cleaning tasks using diluted cleaning agents. Furthermore, safety standards have not been compromised, emphasizes René. “The glove meets all safety and usability standards. Otherwise, we would never include it in our range, because safety and hygiene for the user always come first.”

Positive tests
Before introducing the Gloovy Eco Glove to our range, we tested it among our own employees. Their verdict is positive, says René. “The material is slightly less elastic than they were used to, but that didn’t seem to affect usability. ‘It works just like before’, we often hear. Some even don’t want to go back.”
