Blog: LipsGroen about NonaDes

“We both believe in green solutions.”

Together You Go Further. That’s Bram Lips’ Belief. That’s why the employees of his landscaping company recently tested our new, eco-friendly cleaner, NonaDes. “We’re being completely honest, because only then can Spectro really benefit,” says Bram. Spoiler alert: it works great.

“When we design a garden, we incorporate a lot of greenery and ensure rainwater can penetrate the soil,” Bram explains, describing LipsGroen’s approach. “And there’s always something for insects and birds to enjoy. We also opt for organic shapes, so users feel at ease.” Green-stained paving, on the other hand, looks messy. That’s why Bram equips his landscapers with a steam cleaner and a new, eco-friendly cleaner, specially developed by Spectro.

Shared Passion

According to Bram, his company has been a customer of Spectro for over 25 years. “My father once installed a garden for founder Clemens and asked him for advice on a more sustainable cleaning product. Since then, our family businesses have been working together. It’s always been smooth, because we share a deep passion for greenery and sustainability. So, when Spectro asked if we’d test their first truly eco-friendly cleaner, I immediately said ‘yes’.”

Critical Eye

Some gardens are maintained by Bram Lips’ landscapers monthly or even weekly. “That allows us to closely monitor the cleaner’s effects,” says Bram. “Plus, we’re always honest, because that’s the only way Spectro will truly benefit. And ultimately, so will we.”

Test Results

Bram Lips’ landscapers used NonaDes to remove green algae and live moss from paving and decks. Bram says, “It worked brilliantly. But the best part: the product doesn’t harm the soil life. Plants in nearby borders—our trademark—continue to thrive. Even the grass doesn’t get yellow spots. This product really delivers on its promises.”

Tips for Your Garden Borders

According to Bram, a well-designed border can bring you joy for up to 20 years. So while we had him, we asked for his expert advice. Here are the top three tips from the “border expert”:

1. Go for Shade

“The bigger the border, the more pleasant your garden will be. Remove tiles and artificial grass, and plant trees and shrubs. This works even in a small garden!”

2. Choose Plants Carefully

“Opt for different heights and plants that complement each other. Ensure something is always in bloom. A landscaper or garden center expert can offer great advice.”

3. Start with the Soil

“Healthy soil life is the most important thing. When designing your border, use well-fertilized soil. Keep fertilizing and avoid vinegar or other products that damage the soil.
For that, there’s now a wonderful new product: NonaDes.”
